The Garbage Monsters

Yesterday the boys constructed what they called The Beach Garbage Monsters.
Sounds scary? Nah! I gave them each a garbage bag and they drew body parts and attached them to the bag. When Arly arrived home from work we all headed down to the beach and fed those Silly Monsters. The boys really enjoyed seeing all the things they could find however they saw the reality of what happens when people do not recycle or properly throw their trash away. Wrapped in some garbage and seaweed was a dead baby sea turtle. Kai and Sage took some time holding it and then they buried him along with a Heart Sea Bean we found. Another little boy thanked Kai for cleaning up our beaches and placed a piece of garbage in his bag. Kai especially enjoyed picking up since he wants to make sure our local birds eat fish and plants and not plastic bottle caps. The boys ended their adventure for the day with a nice swim in the Ocean.
